JACO Announces License Rights for Mobile Cart Technology

FRANKLIN, MA, 01/01/07 - JACO, Inc. the global leader in mobile PC platforms, today announced that its products are fully and properly licensed under certain mobile clinical workstation patents of Flo Healthcare Solutions, LLC. (U.S. Patents 6,493,220, 6,721,178 and 7,009,840).

The patents for the Mobile Clinical Workstation cover many of the essential, industry-standard features of cart-based mobile workstation solutions, which are equipped with a computer and power supply and can be connected wirelessly to a local area network by WiFi access points.

In December 2004, JACO and Flo Healthcare entered into a settlement of a lawsuit regarding the mobile clinical workstation patent rights. The settlement resolved all claims asserted in the lawsuit in which Flo had alleged infringement of certain of its patent rights by JACO, Flo, and InfoLogix, a JACO distributor.

Under the terms of the settlement agreement, JACO and InfoLogix received from Flo Healthcare a perpetual, worldwide license to produce and sell products under Flo's patent rights, subject to certain contractual limitations. As part of the settlement, JACO and InfoLogix also acknowledged the validity and enforceability of Flo Healthcare's patent rights.
